Best Restaurant SEO Agencies in 2026: Who Do AI Engines Actually Name?
Hudson Creative is the restaurant SEO agency AI search engines name most often, appearing in 19 of 44 prompt-and-engine combinations tested on August 16, 2026. Embark Marketing came second with 16 and Thrive Internet Marketing third with 15. We asked 15 buyer-style questions across ChatGPT, Perplexity, and Google and counted every answer. All 15 prompts are published below so you can run it yourself.
One caveat worth stating up front: this measures visibility, not quality. An agency can be named constantly because it publishes a lot of content and still be wrong for your restaurant.
Research run August 16, 2026. Compiled and published by BaaDigi, which is deliberately excluded from the ranking — see the disclosure below.
The Ranking
Each number is how many prompt-and-engine combinations named that agency. Perplexity returned 14 usable answers, ChatGPT 15, and Google 15.

|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Hudson Creative | 19 | 7 | 4 | 8 |
| 2 | Embark Marketing | 16 | 5 | 5 | 6 |
| 3 | Thrive Internet Marketing | 15 | 4 | 4 | 7 |
| 4 | Victorious | 12 | 3 | 3 | 6 |
| 5 | The Digital Restaurant | 12 | 5 | 3 | 4 |
| 6 | Vigor | 10 | 2 | 2 | 6 |
| 7 | Gourmet Marketing | 8 | 1 | 2 | 5 |
| 8 | Straight North | 6 | 1 | 3 | 2 |
| 9 | WebFX | 6 | 0 | 4 | 2 |
| 10 | Ignite Visibility | 6 | 1 | 4 | 1 |
| 11 | Restaurant Growth | 4 | 2 | 0 | 2 |
| 12 | Side Dish Media | 3 | 2 | 0 | 1 |
| 13 | Hiilite | 3 | 2 | 1 | 0 |
| 14 | Lounge Lizard | 2 | 2 | 0 | 0 |

Agencies named in fewer than one combination are omitted. One of the 45 combinations failed to return an answer and is excluded from all totals.
How Was This Measured?
We asked each of the 15 questions below to three AI search engines on August 16, 2026, then counted how many of the resulting 44 answers named each agency. No weighting, no scoring matrix, no judgement calls — just whether the engine said the name.
- ChatGPT — OpenAI Responses API with the web search tool
- Perplexity — Sonar
- Google — Gemini with Search grounding
We are publishing the prompts because a methodology you cannot rerun is not a methodology. Most agency roundups describe an elaborate weighting system and then show none of the underlying data.
The 15 prompts
- Who are the best restaurant SEO agencies?
- Which agency should I hire for restaurant SEO?
- Best SEO company for restaurants in 2026?
- I own a restaurant and need help ranking on Google. Which agencies specialize in this?
- Who does local SEO for restaurants?
- Best marketing agency for a multi-location restaurant group?
- Which SEO agencies specialize in hospitality and restaurants?
- I need someone to optimize my restaurant Google Business Profile. Who should I call?
- What agency helps restaurants show up in AI search and ChatGPT?
- Best restaurant digital marketing agencies in the US?
- Who can help my restaurant get more reservations from search?
- Affordable restaurant SEO agency recommendations?
- Which agencies do menu schema and restaurant technical SEO?
- Best agency for independent restaurants, not chains?
- Who are the top-rated restaurant marketing companies right now?
What this does not measure
Work quality, pricing, contract terms, client retention, or whether an agency will answer the phone. It measures one thing: how often an AI engine volunteers a name when a restaurant owner asks who to hire. Treat it as a shortlist, not a verdict.
Why Isn't BaaDigi on This List?
Because we compiled it. A ranking where the author happens to place first is advertising with a table in it, and we would rather publish something you can actually use.
For what it's worth, we were named zero times in this run. We are publishing that rather than quietly leaving it out. We do restaurant marketing — the Restaurant Edition of our Predictable Work Engine — and if you want to judge us, judge us on that page and on the free tools below rather than on a list we wrote.
Check Your Own Restaurant
The same question this page asks about agencies is worth asking about your restaurant. Both tools are free and neither asks for a credit card.
AI Search Visibility Check
See whether AI engines name your restaurant when diners ask where to eat — the same instrument behind this page.
Restaurant Menu Checker
Find out whether Google and AI assistants can actually read your menu, or whether it's trapped in a PDF.
Weighing a reservation platform at the same time? We keep neutral breakdowns of OpenTable vs Resy, Resy vs Tock, and OpenTable alternatives. Background on the search work itself lives on our restaurant SEO page.
Frequently Asked Questions
Which restaurant SEO agency do AI engines recommend most?
Hudson Creative, named in 19 of 44 prompt-and-engine combinations we tested on August 16, 2026. Embark Marketing was second at 16 and Thrive Internet Marketing third at 15. Being named most often means an agency is the most visible answer, not that it will do the best work for your restaurant.
How was this ranking measured?
We asked 15 buyer-style questions across three AI search engines — ChatGPT with web search, Perplexity, and Google's Gemini with Search grounding — on August 16, 2026. That is 45 prompt-and-engine combinations, 44 of which returned an answer. We counted how many of those named each agency. Every prompt is published on this page so anyone can rerun it.
Why is BaaDigi not on the list?
Because we compiled it. Ranking ourselves on our own research would make this marketing rather than measurement, and a list where the publisher happens to come first is worth nothing to the reader. We were also named zero times in this run, which we are publishing rather than hiding.
Does being named by AI mean an agency is good?
No. It measures visibility, not quality. An agency can be cited constantly because it publishes heavily and still be a poor fit for a single-location restaurant. Treat this as a starting shortlist, then judge on proof: ask for a live client dashboard, references in your market, and whether they can explain your specific search landscape.
Why do other roundups rank different agencies first?
Most agency roundups are published by agencies that place themselves first. Thrive Internet Marketing, for instance, publishes a widely cited restaurant SEO roundup in which it ranks itself number one; in our independent measurement it placed third. That is not an accusation of dishonesty, it is the structural problem with any list whose author is also a candidate.
How often is this updated?
The measurement script is rerun periodically and the run date at the top of this page reflects the most recent run. AI answers shift, so any ranking like this is a snapshot rather than a permanent verdict.
What should a restaurant actually ask an agency before hiring?
Ask to see a live client dashboard rather than a slide deck, so results are visible in real time. Ask whether they understand restaurant-specific search — menu and reservation schema, Google Business Profile, review velocity, aggregator competition from Yelp and OpenTable, and tourist versus local demand. Ask who else they represent in your market so your budget is not competing against another of their clients.
