HubSpot pricing starts free for up to two users[1]. Starter is $7 a seat per month paid annually or $10 paid monthly, a limited-time price for new customers off a $20 list price[1][2][3]. Professional is where the real cost starts: Sales Hub Professional is $90 a seat per month on an annual contract plus a required $1,500 onboarding fee, Marketing Hub Professional is $800 a month plus $3,000 onboarding, and the full Professional bundle is $1,300 a month[4][5][1]. For a home service contractor, the gap that matters is texting. HubSpot has no texting on Starter; it is a $75-a-month add-on available only on Professional or Enterprise, and replies from customers count against the limit[3]. Professional plans are annual commitments you cannot cancel or downgrade mid-term, with no refunds[4][6].
BaaDigi does not resell HubSpot or take a referral fee from any software vendor named on this page. We sell marketing services, including a custom CRM built on GoHighLevel.
What does each HubSpot plan cost?
| Plan | Paid annually | Billed monthly | Required onboarding | What you get |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Free tools | $0 | $0 | None | Up to 2 users[1] |
| Starter (any single hub, or the Starter bundle) | $7 per seat / month (promo) | $10 per seat / month (promo), no commitment; list price $20 | None shown | 500 HubSpot Credits; 1,000 marketing contacts with Marketing Hub; 500 calling minutes and 1 HubSpot phone number[1][2][3] |
| Sales Hub Professional | $90 per seat / month | $100 per seat / month on an annual commitment | $1,500 | 3,000 credits, sequences, forecasting[4][3] |
| Service Hub Professional | Not captured | $100 per seat / month (catalog) | $1,500 per the pricing page; not mentioned in the catalog | Ticketing, help desk[7][3] |
| Marketing Hub Professional | $800 / month | $890 / month on an annual commitment | $3,000 | 3 core seats (extra seats from $45 annually or $50 monthly), 2,000 marketing contacts, 3,000 credits[5][3] |
| Professional bundle (all Pro hubs) | $1,300 / month | $1,450 / month | Not published | 6 seats, 5,000 credits, 2,000 marketing contacts[1] |
| Sales Hub Enterprise | $150 per seat / month, billed annually | n/a | $3,500 | 5,000 credits[3] |
| Marketing Hub Enterprise | $3,600 / month, billed annually | n/a | $7,000 | 5 core seats, 10,000 marketing contacts[3] |
| Enterprise bundle | $4,700 / month | n/a | Not published | 8 seats, 10,000 credits, 10,000 marketing contacts[1] |
The Starter price is a promotion. HubSpot’s pricing page says "Save up to 65% on Starter," then: "New customers only. Select offers available for a limited time"[1]. Its product catalog lists Starter at $20 a month per seat[3]. HubSpot does not publish whether a promo account returns to the $20 list price at renewal. Its terms do allow a price increase at renewal with at least 30 days’ notice[6], so budget for $20 a seat from year two unless your order says otherwise.
Professional plans are sold on annual commitments: choosing "Pay Monthly" on the pricing page still means "Commit annually"[4]. The required onboarding fee is shown in a footnote under the price: "Cost shown does not include the required, one-time Professional Onboarding"[4][5].
Two published conflicts to settle in writing before you buy: the Service Hub Professional onboarding fee ($1,500 on the pricing page, absent from the catalog) and the onboarding fee for the Professional bundle, which we could not find published anywhere[7][3].
What does HubSpot cost for a small contractor, in real numbers?
Most home service contractors want three things from a CRM: a place for leads, texting with customers, and a record of where each lead came from. On HubSpot, texting sets the floor. It is not available on Starter, so the cheapest path to texting is Sales Hub Professional plus the $75-a-month SMS add-on[3].
| Item | Paid annually | Billed monthly on annual commitment |
|---|---|---|
| 3 Sales Pro seats × 12 months | $3,240 ($90 × 3 × 12) | $3,600 ($100 × 3 × 12) |
| SMS add-on × 12 months | $900 ($75 × 12) | $900 ($75 × 12) |
| Required onboarding (one time) | $1,500 | $1,500 |
| First-year total | $5,640 | $6,000 |
By comparison, three Starter seats cost $252 a year at the $7 annual promo, or $720 a year at the $20 list price, but with no texting[1][3]. That jump from Starter to Professional is one of the most common complaints about HubSpot[8].
Which HubSpot features cost extra?
- Texting (Sales and Service): $75 a month for 1,000 message segments, available only on Sales Hub or Service Hub Professional and Enterprise[3]. "Both incoming and outgoing SMS messages count against your message segment limit," and unused segments do not roll over[3].
- Marketing texting: a separate $75-a-month add-on for Marketing Hub Professional and Enterprise, US customers only[3].
- Marketing contacts: Starter includes 1,000; each extra 1,000 costs $50 a month up to 3,000, $45 up to 5,000 and $40 above that. Professional includes 2,000, with extra blocks of 5,000 starting at $250 a month[3].
- Contacts you do not market to are free, up to 15 million total[3].
- HubSpot Credits (used by AI features): extra credits are $0.010 each. Included credits reset monthly and "do not roll over"[3].
- AI agents: since April 14, 2026, the Customer Agent costs $0.50 per resolved conversation and the Prospecting Agent $1 per lead recommended for outreach[9].
- HubSpot AEO (AI search tracking): $50 a month, or $45 paid annually, to track 25 prompts across 3 answer engines[5].
- Calling minutes: 500 on Starter, 3,000 on Professional and 12,000 on Enterprise per account per month[1].
Mixing tiers raises every seat. If you buy one Professional hub and keep others on Starter, all your core seats are "priced based on the highest level of your subscription services"[3].
Marketing contact overages bill at once and stick. "If you exceed your marketing contacts tier at any time, you will be billed immediately," and the higher tier "cannot be downgraded until your contract renewal date"[3]. Reviewers report form submissions being added as marketing contacts by default, which pushes accounts over the cap[10].
What does a HubSpot contract lock you into?
HubSpot’s terms of service are strict, and they apply to every paid plan bought on a term:
- Auto-renewal: unless your order says otherwise, "your subscription will automatically renew for the shorter of the same duration as your prior term or one year"[6].
- No early cancellation: "you may not cancel your subscription prior to the end of your Current Term," and HubSpot will not refund prepaid or unused fees[6].
- No mid-term downgrade: "You are not permitted to downgrade your Subscription Service during your Current Term"[6].
- Renewal price increases: HubSpot will notify you "at least thirty (30) days in advance of your renewal," and higher fees apply from the next term[6].
- Overages: exceeding your marketing contact tier is billed immediately[3].
Put your renewal date on the calendar the day you sign, and switch off auto-renew if you are not sure. The most common Trustpilot complaint is a contract that auto-renewed after a missed cancellation window, with support refusing to adjust it[8].
Can you get your data out of HubSpot if you leave?
Yes. Records export as CSV, XLSX or XLS files, and HubSpot recommends CSV for large exports because it has no column limit[11]. Export before your term ends rather than after.
How does HubSpot track where contractor leads come from?
HubSpot is strong on web attribution and weak on the channels most contractors live on: phone calls, Google Business Profile and Local Services Ads.
- Web traffic source: every contact carries an Original Traffic Source and a Latest Traffic Source property on all plans, including free, and there is now an "AI Referrals" source[12].
- Attribution reports: need Marketing Hub (or Content Hub) Professional or Enterprise; deal and revenue attribution need Marketing Hub Enterprise[13].
- Website forms: HubSpot forms load from HubSpot’s own hosted script (js.hsforms.net); HubSpot says they "should only be loaded using the HubSpot-hosted JavaScript file"[14].
- Call tracking: we found no native tracking-number or number-swap feature. CallRail connects through HubSpot’s marketplace and requires its own CallRail subscription[15].
- Google Business Profile: not among HubSpot’s supported social connections, which are Facebook and Instagram, LinkedIn, Reddit, TikTok, X and YouTube[16]. We found no native Google review sync or Google review-request feature in HubSpot’s documentation.
- Google Local Services Ads: we found no LSA integration in HubSpot’s documentation and could not verify one.
- Zapier and API: HubSpot has a public API and a Zapier app[17]. GoHighLevel offers native HubSpot workflow triggers and actions, limited to creating and finding contacts[18].
Where leads lose their source: a customer who sees your Google Business Profile or Local Services Ad and calls you never touches your website, so HubSpot’s traffic-source properties never see them. Without a call tracking tool feeding HubSpot, those leads arrive with no source, or get logged by hand.
Who is HubSpot built for?
HubSpot was founded in 2006, is publicly traded on the NYSE and describes itself as "the agentic customer platform for scaling businesses"[19][20]. It had 306,446 customers as of June 30, 2026[20]. It has construction-industry landing pages but no home service edition or trade-specific product[21].
For a 1–50 person contractor, HubSpot fits best as an office sales pipeline: estimates, follow-up email and a clean contact record. Reviewers consistently call it easy to learn, and praise having contacts, email marketing and the deal pipeline in one place[22]. It is not field-service software, and reviewers also warn it is too heavy for a business trying to run lean[22].
HubSpot publishes its own "HubSpot vs HighLevel" page, which pitches HubSpot as "built for your business — not the agencies reselling it"[23]. It is vendor-authored and ranks HubSpot first, as every vendor comparison does.
What do users complain about most?
| Site | Rating | Reviews |
|---|---|---|
| G2, Sales Hub (archived September 21, 2026) | 4.4 / 5 | 14,304 |
| G2, Marketing Hub (archived September 21, 2026) | 4.4 / 5 | 15,876 |
| Capterra, HubSpot CRM | 4.5 / 5 | 4,485 |
| Trustpilot | 1.5 / 5 | 1,169 |
The split is stark. Software review sites rate the product highly; Trustpilot, where reviews skew toward billing and support, rates the company poorly[8]. The recurring complaints are auto-renewals and contract lock-in, a steep price jump from Starter to Professional, useful features such as advanced reporting and automation locked in higher tiers, marketing-contact billing surprises, and support that routes customers to AI bots[8][10].
What changed at HubSpot in 2025 and 2026?
- April 14, 2026: the Customer Agent and Prospecting Agent moved to outcome-based pricing[9].
- July 1–5, 2026: HubSpot changed its terms to allow customer enrichment data to be shared across accounts, then fully reversed the change by July 5 after customer backlash[25].
- 2026: Starter promotion of up to 65% off for new customers, for a limited time[1].
- 2026: buying Sales Hub brings Revenue Hub Professional for $57 a seat (was $95) or Enterprise for $98 a seat (was $140), billed annually[4].
- Q2 2026: revenue of $911.7 million, up 20%[20].
Should you buy HubSpot?
- Likely a fit: a contractor with an office sales team, a long estimate-to-close cycle and most leads coming through the website, who values an easy CRM and can live with annual contracts.
- Likely not: a shop that runs on phone calls, texting, Google Business Profile and Local Services Ads. Texting starts at Professional plus an add-on, and call tracking, GBP reviews and LSA all need other tools.
- Starter alone: cheap on the promo and fine as a contact list and email tool, but plan for the $20 list price and no texting.
- Either way: get the renewal price, onboarding fee and seat count in your order in writing, and put the renewal date on your calendar.
Frequently asked questions
- How much does HubSpot cost per month?
- HubSpot has a free plan for up to two users. Starter is $7 a seat per month paid annually or $10 paid monthly on a new-customer promotion, against a $20 list price. Sales Hub Professional is $90–$100 a seat per month on an annual contract, and Marketing Hub Professional is $800–$890 a month.
- Does HubSpot charge an onboarding fee?
- On Professional and Enterprise, yes, and it is required. HubSpot lists $1,500 for Sales Hub Professional, $3,000 for Marketing Hub Professional, $3,500 for Sales Hub Enterprise and $7,000 for Marketing Hub Enterprise. No onboarding fee is shown for Starter.
- Can I text customers from HubSpot Starter?
- No. Texting is a $75-a-month add-on available only on Sales Hub or Service Hub Professional and Enterprise, with a separate marketing texting add-on for Marketing Hub Professional and Enterprise. Both sent and received messages count against the 1,000-segment monthly limit.
- Can I cancel HubSpot early?
- Not on a term contract. HubSpot’s terms say you cannot cancel before the end of the current term, will not get refunds of prepaid or unused fees, and cannot downgrade mid-term. Subscriptions auto-renew unless you switch auto-renew off before the term ends.
- Does HubSpot do call tracking or connect to Google Business Profile?
- Not natively. HubSpot has no built-in call tracking; CallRail connects through its marketplace with a separate subscription. Google Business Profile is not one of HubSpot’s supported social connections, and there is no native Google review sync.
