Google LSA or Angi: Which Fits Your Business?

Should contractors choose Google Local Services Ads or Angi?
Choose between Google Local Services Ads and Angi using eligibility, product terms, service fit and your own acquisition costs. Neither platform has a verified universal price or close-rate advantage in this review. A billed lead is an opportunity to earn work, not a booked appointment or a profitable customer.
What is the first decision?
Confirm that your business can use the specific product, then decide whether your office can handle the inquiries. Compare the complete offer and normal sales cycle. You can test both when budget and capacity allow, but splitting money across two poorly tracked sources will not tell you which one deserves more.
Can an AI agent actually use your website?
AI agents are starting to visit sites on a customer's behalf — comparing companies and requesting quotes. We run the same agentic browsing checks Google built into Chrome and show you what an agent hits when it lands on your site. No email to run it.

Editorial correction: An earlier version compared third-party LSA averages with unverified Angi prices and close rates, then declared a winner. Those figures did not establish comparable outcomes for the same contractors. We have removed that comparison and the unsupported review-count threshold.
What are you buying from each platform?
| Question | Google Local Services Ads | Angi |
|---|---|---|
| What is the product? | A local advertising profile and eligible customer leads | The named lead, Opportunity or other product in your offer |
| What must you confirm? | Category/location availability and screening requirements | Selected tasks, territory and agreement |
| What creates a charge? | Leads under Google’s current billing rules | Account and product-specific lead/acceptance rules |
| What does a budget mean? | Check the settings and billing limits for the account | Some matching and accepted Opportunities can exceed the monthly target |
| Does a charge prove a sale? | No | No |
Google’s lead documentation explains the LSA purchase. Angi’s current product guide distinguishes homeowner-selected leads and Opportunity flows. Do not describe every current Angi inquiry as automatically sent to a fixed number of contractors.
Who can use Local Services Ads?
Google’s screening process varies by business category and location. It may include registration, license, insurance, background and review requirements. Check the actual requirements shown for your business. Angi should not be presented as a way to bypass licensing or other obligations that apply to your work.
The current Google Verified badge concerns verification. It does not establish a guaranteed lead volume, closing rate or customer return. Our Google badge and eligibility guide explains the distinction from older Google Guaranteed terminology.

Which billing differences matter most?
Angi’s billing FAQ distinguishes account arrangements and explains that additional matching or accepted Opportunities can create spending beyond a monthly target. Save your offer and ask what limits actually control exposure before accepting more activity.
For either platform, separate the price of a lead, recurring fees, management work and the cost of following up. Keep posted credits separate from requests awaiting a decision. Compare the resulting invoice with the sales work it produced.
How should you assess questionable leads?
Google uses automated LSA lead assessment and eligible credits; its published policy excludes credits for unserved job types and geographic areas. Do not assume every unwanted inquiry is refundable. For Angi, use the policy attached to your current product and retain the evidence needed to ask about a charge.
Classify the issue before choosing an action: invalid contact, wrong service, unanswered call, open estimate or lost sale. Those categories point to different improvements. A genuine homeowner who chooses someone else does not establish that a platform billed incorrectly.
How do you compare the cost of actual customers?
Acquisition cost per customer = attributable acquisition spending divided by customers acquired. Apply the same cost definition and outcome stage to both sources. Include media or lead fees, relevant subscriptions and the management or staff costs you choose to measure.
A booking is not a completed job, and a signed contract is not collected revenue. Track those stages separately. If no customers have closed, show spending and zero customers; do not call the acquisition cost zero. Keep open estimates visible until the normal decision cycle has passed.
Group comparable services together. One large project can make a small test appear successful even when the remaining inquiries are unsuitable. Use the contractor budget guide to connect acquisition expense with what the business can carry.
Which option should you test first?
Consider LSA first when your business is eligible, the service fit is clear and your office can handle the lead format. This is a fit decision, not a claimed universal cost advantage.
Consider the Angi offer when its actual scope and agreement suit your operation and the test fits your cash limit. Review the Angi buying guide before accepting a general promise about lead quality.
Repair intake first when nobody reliably responds or records outcomes. Test both only when you can preserve separate source records and fund a meaningful comparison. There is no evidence here supporting a mandatory two-platform budget split.
Where does BaaDigi fit?
We sell contractor marketing services and therefore have a commercial interest in this comparison. The Stability Engine costs $497 monthly plus $995 setup, with Google ad spend separate and management for up to $1,600 monthly Google ad spend within its published scope. This is a service package, not a guaranteed lead price. Include that fee when comparing managed advertising with a vendor account.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is Google LSA always cheaper than Angi?▼
No universal price advantage is established here. Compare the actual offers and your own outcomes using the same cost categories. A lower lead charge can still produce a higher customer acquisition cost when requests do not fit or estimates do not close. Include relevant fees, follow-up effort and delivery margins before declaring either source more profitable.
Does a Google Verified badge guarantee better leads?▼
The badge concerns completion of Google’s verification requirements. It does not guarantee that an inquiry matches your preferred project, becomes an appointment or produces profitable work. Check eligibility and accurate service settings, then evaluate the delivered inquiries. A verification signal should not be converted into an unsupported forecast of volume, lead quality or closing rate.
Are all Angi leads shared with the same number of contractors?▼
The current documentation describes different connection and acceptance flows. This review does not verify one fixed distribution count that applies to every product or account. Ask what your offer includes and how homeowners select businesses. Keep that product description with your agreement instead of relying on an old marketplace comparison that treats all inquiries alike.
Should I run LSA and Angi together?▼
Only when the combined spending, staffing and reporting fit your operation. Keep separate records for each source and recognize homeowners who contact you through more than one route. Test a clear question, such as whether another channel brings suitable requests you are not already receiving. Running both is an option, not proof of a stronger return.
How should I compare appointments and completed customers?▼
Keep them in separate columns and label each cost measure accurately. Cost per appointment uses appointments as its denominator; customer acquisition cost uses acquired customers. Allow open estimates time to resolve and match completed work to collected revenue and delivery costs. Mixing these stages can make one source look better simply because its report stops earlier.
