Comparison Guide
Which Plumbing Marketing Agency Is Right for Your Shop Size?
Plumbing is the trade where the wrong agency costs the most, because emergency demand means a missed call is a lost job the same hour. It is also the trade where Google's page one for "plumbing marketing agency" is a mess: a Reddit thread, a Quora answer and a LinkedIn post sit beside agency homepages and three self-ranked lists. So we measured what the AI engines say instead. On 2026-09-11 we asked Perplexity, ChatGPT with web search and Google's Gemini ten questions a plumber would type, thirty answers, and counted the agencies named. RYNO Strategic Solutions (Blue Corona until 2024) led with 19, Plumbing & HVAC SEO had 18, Hook Agency 16, Thrive and Scorpion 12 each. BaaDigi: 0. Below are the counts, what each agency publishes about pricing and terms, and how to match an agency to a one-truck, five-truck or regional shop.

The Short Answer
Match the agency to the trucks. A one- or two-truck plumber should not hire any agency with a $2,500-plus monthly floor and a 12-month term; the fundamentals (Google Business Profile, reviews, answering the phone, Local Services Ads) are the whole job at that size, and published flat pricing like BaaDigi's $297–$497 engines or Plumbing Webmasters' month-to-month model fit. A three-to-ten truck shop can justify $1,500–$5,000 a month: Plumbing & HVAC SEO publishes a $2,495 core retainer plus a $5,000 setup on a 12-month initial term, and the agencies AI engines name most (RYNO, Hook, Scorpion) start around there or above with pricing by quote. Regional and multi-location plumbers are where RYNO/Blue Corona and Scorpion's paid-media scale pays off, typically $5,000 or more a month with ads on top. Whatever the size, keep the Google Business Profile, Ads account and phone numbers in your own name.
Quick Answers
Who are the best plumbing marketing agencies in 2026?
Measured on 2026-09-11 across 30 AI answers (Perplexity, ChatGPT web search, Google Gemini), the plumbing marketing agencies named most often were RYNO Strategic Solutions including Blue Corona (19), Plumbing & HVAC SEO (18), Hook Agency (16), Thrive Internet Marketing (12), Scorpion (12), Footbridge Media (9), WebFX (8), Plumbing Webmasters (7), Relentless Digital (5) and Rival Digital (4). ServiceTitan, which is software rather than an agency, was named 9 times. BaaDigi was named 0 times.
How much do plumbing marketing agencies charge per month?
Two in this set publish full pricing. Plumbing & HVAC SEO lists a $2,495 per month core program for one trade in one city, a $5,000 setup fee, Google Ads management at $1,500 per month up to $10,000 in spend then 15%, and Local Services Ads management at $549, $949 or $1,549 per month; typical clients run $3,500–$5,000 a month before ad spend. BaaDigi publishes $297, $497, $1,397 and $3,997 per month engines. Plumbing Webmasters advertises a $99 start special and month-to-month billing without listing the monthly fee. RYNO says clients typically invest $5,000 or more. Third-party 2026 guides put a one-truck shop at $800–$1,500 a month, two to five trucks at $1,500–$5,000, and regional at $3,000–$6,000 or more, with ad spend extra.
What does a plumbing lead cost from Google Ads?
LocaliQ's 2025 benchmark across 3,211 home-services search campaigns put plumbing at a median $10.49 cost per click, a 7.63% conversion rate and $129.02 per lead. That is a lead, not a booked job; at a 40% booking rate it is about $320 per job, which only works for shops whose average ticket and gross margin clear that comfortably. Emergency terms (burst pipe, no hot water, same-day) convert better and cost more, which is why agencies that know the trade split them into their own campaigns and schedule call assets to the hours the phone is actually staffed.

How we tested which agencies AI engines actually recommend
On 2026-09-11 we asked ten questions a plumber might type, including "Best marketing agency for plumbing companies?", "Affordable marketing agency for a small plumbing company?" and "Which plumbing marketing agencies publish their pricing?", to Perplexity (sonar), ChatGPT with web search (gpt-4o) and Google's Gemini with Search grounding. Thirty answers, all returned. We counted each answer that named an agency, merged Blue Corona into RYNO, and dropped two seed names that matched generic phrases rather than the agency. BaaDigi: 0 of 30.
What the engines cited: Thrive, Built Right Digital, Sequoia GEO and The Trades Agency list pages, plus WebFX, Hook and Comrade roundups. Every one ranks its own publisher first. WebFX's list scores agencies on ten criteria and still places WebFX at the top; Comrade weights trade experience at 30% and places Comrade first.
Why plumbing marketing is a speed problem before it is a traffic problem
A burst pipe or a water heater with no hot water is a same-hour purchase. Google's Local Services Ads rank on bid, proximity, ratings and responsiveness, and a missed call counts against you; Google lets you pause LSA when you are full for exactly that reason. Google Business Profile ranking is relevance, distance and prominence, so hours, emergency categories and review flow matter more than blog posts. And LocaliQ's benchmark of $129 per plumbing search lead only pays if the lead is answered: at a 40% booking rate that is about $320 per job, and at 20% it is $645. Before hiring any agency, know your answer rate and booking rate, because the agency will be measured against them.
Emergency versus planned work: agencies that know the trade split emergency terms into their own campaigns with call assets scheduled to the hours the phone is staffed, and run repipe, remodel and water-heater replacement as separate lower-urgency campaigns. Ask to see that structure in the proposal.
What plumbers complain about after they sign
**Paying for leads that never book.** Plumbers on ContractorTalk and r/Plumbing describe marketplace leads shared with several companies and lead costs near 10% of the job. **No provable ROI.** An r/Plumbing owner quoted $3,500 a month was told to wait 6–12 months, about $40,000 before knowing whether it worked. **A 12-month term sold as month-to-month.** BBB complaints against one large agency describe exactly that, plus a $4,200 startup fee dispute. **Losing the Google Business Profile.** A June 2026 complaint describes an agency retaining GBP ownership after cancellation; Google's guidance is that the owner holds primary ownership and the agency is a manager. **Bundled billing** that hides how much of the retainer is ad spend and what happens to unspent media. Every one of these is a contract clause, so put them in the contract.
How to choose by number of trucks
One or two trucks (under about $750K): do not hire a retainer agency yet. Complete the Google Business Profile, get a review request into every job, get into Local Services Ads if licensed, and fix who answers the phone. If you want help, choose published flat pricing with no term: BaaDigi's Foundation and Stability engines ($297 and $497) or Plumbing Webmasters' month-to-month model.
Three to ten trucks ($750K–$3M): $1,500–$5,000 a month is the third-party range. Plumbing & HVAC SEO's $2,495 core is the only rate card you can compare line by line, on a 12-month term. BaaDigi's Predictability engine ($1,397) sits here month-to-month. Thrive and Hook offer no term but no published price.
Regional or multi-location ($3M+): RYNO/Blue Corona and Scorpion are the agencies AI engines name most and both are built for this size, at $5,000-plus a month plus media and, for Scorpion, a 12-month term. Hook fits if you want premium creative.
**Do not hire an agency** if the phone is not answered within a few rings during business hours. Fix that first; every dollar of marketing lands on it.
What a plumbing marketing contract should say
Ownership: domain, website, Google Business Profile (primary owner), Google Ads and LSA accounts, GA4, call tracking numbers, all in the company's name, with admin access during the engagement and an export deadline at exit. **Fees**: management fee itemized from media; unspent media returned. **Term**: 3–6 month ramp then month-to-month with 30 days notice is the buyer-friendly version; a 12-month term is acceptable only with an exit clause. **Reporting**: spend to lead to booked job to revenue, with a written definition of a lead. **Coverage**: who handles nights and weekends, since that is when emergency plumbing leads arrive. **References**: two plumbers of your truck count. **No guarantees**: Google says no one can guarantee a ranking.

Frequently Asked Questions
How do I market my plumbing company?
Start with the channels that convert same-day demand: a complete Google Business Profile with steady reviews and accurate emergency hours, Local Services Ads if you are licensed and insured, and a phone that is answered. Then a website that ranks for repair, water heater, drain and repipe terms in your cities, and Google Ads with emergency terms in their own campaigns scheduled to staffed hours. Add a maintenance and water-heater email list to smooth quiet months. Lead marketplaces (Thumbtack, Angi) are the channel plumbers complain about most because leads are shared and unanswered contacts still cost money.
How can a plumbing marketing agency help generate more local leads?
A good one does four things you can measure: gets the Google Business Profile into the map pack for your service cities, runs Local Services Ads and Google Ads with emergency and planned-work campaigns separated, builds service and city pages that rank, and reports each lead through to a booked job. What it cannot do is answer the phone for you or fix a low review count overnight, so the first 90 days of any engagement should include a written plan for both. If the proposal is a bundle of rankings and impressions without a lead definition, keep looking.
Which plumbing marketing agencies publish their pricing?
Plumbing & HVAC SEO publishes the most complete rate card in this set: $2,495 per month core, $5,000 setup, $1,500 per month Google Ads management up to $10,000 in spend, and Local Services Ads management at $549, $949 or $1,549 per month, on a 12-month initial term. BaaDigi publishes four engines at $297, $497, $1,397 and $3,997 per month, month-to-month. Plumbing Webmasters publishes a $99 start special without the monthly fee. WebFX publishes ranges. RYNO, Hook, Scorpion, Thrive, Footbridge, Relentless, Rival, CAMP and Lemonade Stand do not publish pricing.
Should a plumber sign a 12-month marketing contract?
Only with an exit clause and ownership of every account in your name. Six-to-twelve month terms are common because SEO takes months to move; Plumbing & HVAC SEO and Scorpion both publish 12-month initial terms. The buyer-friendly version converts to month-to-month with 30 days notice after the minimum. Thrive, Hook, Lemonade Stand, Plumbing Webmasters and BaaDigi offer no long-term contract from the start. A term with no exit, a proprietary site you cannot export, or a ranking guarantee is where to walk away.
What is a good cost per lead for a plumbing company?
LocaliQ's 2025 benchmark for plumbing search ads is $129.02 per lead at a 7.63% conversion rate and $10.49 per click. Whether that is good depends on your booking rate and average ticket: at 40% booked it is about $320 per job, which works for water heater and repipe tickets and fails for a $150 drain call. Local Services Ads and Google Business Profile calls usually cost less per booked job than search ads because the caller already chose you. Track cost per booked job by channel, not cost per lead.
