Which Plumbing SEO Company Should You Hire in 2026?

This page is about SEO only: ranking a plumbing company in Google's map pack and organic results, and now in ChatGPT and Google's AI answers. If you want ads, Local Services Ads, websites and lead buying compared too, see our plumbing marketing agencies comparison. On 2026-09-30 we asked Perplexity, ChatGPT with web search and Google's Gemini ten questions a plumber would type about hiring an SEO company. 29 answers came back (one Perplexity request failed). Plumbing & HVAC SEO was named in 20, RYNO Strategic Solutions including Blue Corona in 18, WebFX and Plumbing Webmasters in 15 each, and Hook Agency and Scorpion in 14 each. BaaDigi was named in 0. One thing changed recently that the AI answers have not caught up with: in August 2026 Plumbing & HVAC SEO published its full rate card, yet a Google answer in our test still said it does not publish standard rates. Below are the counts, every SEO price and contract term these companies publish on their own sites, and which one fits a one-truck, five-truck or regional shop.

How we tested which plumbing SEO companies AI engines recommend

On 2026-09-30 we asked ten questions a plumber might type, including "Best SEO company for plumbing companies?", "Affordable SEO company for a small plumbing company?", "What agency helps plumbing companies show up in ChatGPT and AI search?" and "Which SEO companies publish their pricing for plumbing companies?", to Perplexity (sonar), ChatGPT with web search (gpt-4o) and Google's Gemini with Search grounding. That is 30 requests; one Perplexity request failed on a rate limit, so 29 answers. We counted each answer that named a company, merged Blue Corona into RYNO because they are one company, and left software and directories (ServiceTitan, Service Direct, DesignRush) out of the table. BaaDigi was named in 0 of 29 and no answer cited a BaaDigi page.

Below the table: Comrade and UltraGrowthMedia were each named in 3 answers, and PipeRank, a plumbing-only shop that publishes no price, was also named. Several other names (PlumbingSEO.agency, The Trades Agency, Sequoia GEO, CI Web Group) appeared in one or two.

What changed for plumbing SEO buyers from 2024 to 2026

**August 2026: the most-named plumbing SEO company published its prices.** Plumbing & HVAC SEO's pricing page, dated August 21, 2026, lists $2,495 a month for one trade in one location, a $5,000 setup, every add-on, and a 12-month initial term. The AI answers have not caught up: a Google answer in our test said Plumbing & HVAC SEO does not publish standard rates, and The Trades Agency's list, the most-cited page in our test, says it quotes custom. Check the vendor's own page.

**October 2025: "Google Guaranteed" became Google Verified.** On August 20, 2025, Google announced that starting in October a single Google Verified badge would replace Google Guaranteed and the other Local Services Ads badges. A Google answer in our test still called Local Services Ads "Google Guaranteed". That is an LSA question rather than an SEO one, but an SEO proposal that still sells the old badge was not written this year.

**May 2025: AI Mode arrived in Google Search.** Google rolled out AI Mode in the U.S. on May 20, 2025, and said AI Overviews were driving more than 10% more usage for the queries that show them. That is why "AEO" and "GEO" now appear on plumbing SEO proposals, sometimes as a paid add-on.

**October 2024: Blue Corona and RYNO merged.** The two home-services agencies merged effective October 1, 2024, under the RYNO Strategic Solutions name. AI engines still split them: Blue Corona was named in 16 answers and RYNO in 10, which is why they share one row (18 combined).

Who wrote the lists the AI engines are reading?

Mostly SEO companies ranking themselves. The domains the engines cited most were The Trades Agency (20 citations), Built-Right Digital (16), Thrive (15), SEO.com (14) and Comrade (10). The Trades Agency's "9 Best Plumbing SEO Companies" ranks The Trades Agency first. Built-Right's "8 Best Plumbing SEO Agencies" ranks Built-Right first. Thrive's plumbing list ranks Thrive first. SEO.com's list ranks WebFX first and describes itself as "the team behind SEO.com (WebFX)". Comrade's, Focus Digital's, Hook's, Skill Mammoth's and UltraGrowthMedia's lists each rank their own publisher first; Skill Mammoth says so in a disclosure. Focus Digital scores itself 9.5 out of 10 for pricing transparency, and its pricing page returns a 404. The one exception we found: Sequoia GEO's list ranks Sequoia GEO last, on purpose.

None of that makes the lists useless, but it explains why the same five or six names keep coming back, and why a fact can be repeated by an AI engine long after the vendor changed it.

Do you need a plumbing SEO company or a full plumbing marketing agency?

SEO wins the searches you can rank for: the map pack for "plumber near me", service pages for water heaters, drain cleaning and repipes, and city pages for each town you serve. It does not catch every burst pipe at 2 a.m. in a market where you do not rank yet. That is what Local Services Ads and Google Ads are for. CONTRACTOR magazine put it plainly in August 2026: local SEO and Google Maps are "the long game", weeks to months to rank, while paid search is rent.

If you already run ads in-house or with someone you trust, buy SEO on its own and judge it on calls from the map pack and organic search. If you need ads, LSA, a website and SEO under one roof, compare full-service agencies instead; our plumbing marketing agencies comparison covers their ad-management fees and LSA tiers. Several companies here sell both, so ask for the SEO line priced separately.

Which plumbing SEO companies actually sell AI search optimization?

Included in the SEO price: Plumbing Webmasters puts AEO for ChatGPT, Gemini and Perplexity in its fixed monthly rate. Plumbing & HVAC SEO's $2,495 program includes "Search Everywhere Optimization", which it describes as work that gets you surfaced in AI Overviews and assistants. Focus Digital says it does only Google and AI search: SEO, GEO and paid search.

Priced separately: Hook Agency sells AEO at $4,000 a month, or $2,000 added to an SEO package. Built-Right Digital sells AEO at $2,999 a month.

Listed, no separate price: RYNO (SEO for "AI-driven search platforms like ChatGPT"), WebFX (AI SEO and GEO), Thrive (AI SEO services) and Rival Digital (AI search optimization).

Before paying extra, know what Google says: its AI Overviews and AI Mode need no special optimization beyond normal SEO. The foundations are the same ones that win the map pack, a complete Google Business Profile, steady reviews, clear service and city pages, and mentions on other sites. Ask any company selling AI search to show you, in writing, the exact plumbing prompts it will track for your city and where you stand today.

What plumbers run into after signing an SEO contract

**Paying for months without leads.** A PHC News column by an agency founder describes a contractor in Crofton, Maryland, paying $2,000 a month for SEO and receiving zero leads; the agency had set up the profile, published a few blog posts and walked away. **A term that was not what the owner heard.** In a 2026 BBB complaint against Scorpion, an HVAC company says it was told the engagement was month-to-month, then learned $2,000 of what it paid was committed to a 12-month obligation, and was down $26,000 by January 2026; Scorpion replied that the 12-month commitment was in the signed documents. **Paying to keep the website.** Plumbing & HVAC SEO publishes this one plainly: the site is yours free after 12 months, with a buyout if you leave earlier. Scorpion hands back static files rather than the platform. **Losing control of the Google Business Profile.** Another 2026 BBB complaint says Scorpion kept Primary Owner status after the engagement ended; Scorpion said the requests reached an unmonitored inbox and that it transferred ownership on June 29, 2026. Google's policy is that the business stays the owner and an agency must hand back control within 7 business days of notice. Every one of these is a contract clause, so settle it before you sign.

What a plumbing SEO contract should say

Term: month-to-month, or a short minimum that converts to month-to-month with 30 days notice. Plumbing & HVAC SEO and Scorpion (12 months), Hook (yearly) and WebFX (6 months) publish commitments; Plumbing Webmasters, Thrive, Focus Digital, Built-Right's full-service plans and BaaDigi publish month-to-month. **Website**: who owns it on day one, what happens if you leave early, and whether you get a working site or static files. **Google Business Profile**: you as primary owner, the agency as manager. **Deliverables**: a monthly list of pages, profile work and links, not "optimization". **Reporting**: calls and booked jobs from the map pack and organic search, split by emergency and planned work, with call recordings. **Territory**: Plumbing & HVAC SEO says it works with one contractor per market; ask every company whether it serves a competitor in your service area. **Guarantees**: Google says no one can guarantee a number-one ranking, so a ranking guarantee is a red flag.

Which plumbing SEO company fits your size?

One or two trucks: do the free work first, a complete Google Business Profile, a review request after every job, and a page for each service and town. Hook's form marks under $1M "Not a Fit at This Time" and Rival Digital's says under $1M is "not a fit currently", so look at published entry points instead: Thrive from $500 (month-to-month), Built-Right's $999 SEO plan, Skill Mammoth's support plans, Plumbing Webmasters' month-to-month bundle, or BaaDigi from $297.

Three to ten trucks: $1,000 to $3,500 a month buys real local SEO. Plumbing & HVAC SEO's $2,495 core is the most complete published rate card in plumbing, on a 12-month term. Built-Right's SEO Plus is $3,499, month-to-month on its full-service plans.

Regional and multi-location ($2M to $3M and up): the most-named companies fit here. Hook from $2,800 plus $2,000 for AI search, WebFX from $3,000 on a 6-month commitment, RYNO at $5,000 or more, and Scorpion on a custom quote and a 12-month term.

Whatever the size, fix who answers the phone first. Every SEO dollar lands on that call.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the best SEO company for plumbing companies?

There is no single best, but in our 2026-09-30 test of 29 AI answers the plumbing SEO companies named most were Plumbing & HVAC SEO (20), RYNO Strategic Solutions including Blue Corona (18), WebFX (15), Plumbing Webmasters (15), Hook Agency (14) and Scorpion (14). Plumbing & HVAC SEO and Plumbing Webmasters are plumbing-focused specialists; WebFX and Thrive are general agencies; RYNO and Scorpion are built for larger home-services companies. Pick on published price, contract term, and who owns the website and Google Business Profile, not on a list the company wrote about itself.

How much should a plumber pay for SEO?

Published prices from companies AI engines name run from $500 a month (Thrive's starting point) to $999 (Built-Right Digital), $2,495 plus a $5,000 setup (Plumbing & HVAC SEO), $2,800 (Hook Agency) and $3,000 (WebFX). RYNO says clients typically invest $5,000 or more. BaaDigi publishes $297 to $3,997. Ad spend is always extra. Judge the spend on cost per booked job after six months, not on rankings.

How long does plumbing SEO take to work?

Plumbing & HVAC SEO says organic and map-pack visibility typically show meaningful movement at three to six months, and Plumbing Webmasters says SEO typically takes 3 to 6 months to establish a local plumbing company. CONTRACTOR magazine calls local SEO and Google Maps "weeks to months to rank". That timeline is why so many SEO contracts carry 6 or 12-month terms; if you sign one, get ownership and an exit clause in writing.

Should a plumber sign a 12-month SEO contract?

Only with an exit clause and ownership in writing. Plumbing & HVAC SEO requires a 12-month initial term and releases the website free only after 12 months; Scorpion's FAQ says SEO typically runs 12 months; Hook Agency asks for a yearly commitment; WebFX's SEO plans carry a 6-month commitment. Plumbing Webmasters, Thrive, Focus Digital and BaaDigi publish month-to-month terms, as does Built-Right Digital for its full-service plans. Whatever the term, you should be primary owner of the Google Business Profile and owner of the domain and website.

Which plumbing SEO companies publish their pricing?

Plumbing & HVAC SEO ($2,495 a month core plus $5,000 setup and every add-on), WebFX (SEO from $3,000), Hook Agency (local SEO from $2,800, AEO $4,000), Built-Right Digital (SEO $999, AEO $2,999, SEO Plus $3,499), Thrive (from $500), Skill Mammoth ($350 to $1,500 support plans) and BaaDigi ($297 to $3,997). Relentless Digital publishes ranges in an article. Plumbing Webmasters describes its fee structure but not the amount. RYNO/Blue Corona, Scorpion, Rival Digital and Focus Digital do not publish SEO prices.

Is Blue Corona the same company as RYNO?

Yes. Blue Corona and RYNO Strategic Solutions merged effective October 1, 2024, under the RYNO Strategic Solutions name, and RYNO's site now says "Formerly Blue Corona". AI engines still list them separately: in our test Blue Corona was named in 16 answers and RYNO in 10, 18 combined.
