Comparison Guide
Which Lead Platforms Are Worth It for Electricians?
Electricians get pitched Angi, HomeAdvisor, Thumbtack, Networx, Modernize and Google Local Services Ads, and none of the marketplaces publishes an electrical price. This page puts the billing model, the published price (or the lack of one), lead sharing and contract terms side by side, using each platform's own help pages and contracts checked on October 27 and 28, 2026, plus a published LocaliQ electrical benchmark of $93.69 median cost per lead on search ads. Where a platform publishes nothing, the row says so and any figure comes labelled as a third-party report.

The Short Answer
Quick answer: Angi, HomeAdvisor, Thumbtack, Networx and Modernize sell leads that can go to several contractors, and none publishes an electrical price. For scale, LocaliQ's 2025 report gives a median electrical search-ad cost per lead of $93.69, and SearchLight reports $39 per electrical Local Services Ads lead across 112 accounts. Angi and HomeAdvisor publish nothing for electrical, and we found no third-party electrical figure for either. Thumbtack lets the pro set the price; one third-party sample puts electrical and wiring repair at $43.71 a lead (207 leads). Networx lists $10 to $100+ per shared lead across all categories, with no contract. Modernize lists electrical only on its leads and inbound-calls pages. CraftJack closed in 2024. Houzz Pro serves electricians, but electrical advertising costs and results are unpublished. Google Local Services Ads charge per valid lead with no contract. No platform we checked publishes an electrical close rate.
Quick Answers
Is Angi worth it for electrical companies?
Angi is worth it for an electrical company only if you can price a lead before you commit, and Angi does not publish that price. Its help center says lead fees vary by task, location and demand, and we found no third-party electrical figure for Angi. Each request goes to no more than five pros, subscriptions auto-renew, and any early termination fee applies if it is included in your signed contract, so confirm the term and fee in writing first. For scale, LocaliQ's 2025 report gives a median electrical search-ad cost per lead of $93.69.
Is HomeAdvisor worth it for electrical companies?
HomeAdvisor is no longer a separate choice: it operates within Angi (Angi for Pros), so the electrical answer is the Angi answer plus a regulatory record. It publishes no lead prices, and we found no third-party electrical figure; a rep reviews prices when you call to join. The monthly budget can be exceeded, and lead credits must be requested within 30 days. In 2023 the FTC ordered HomeAdvisor to pay up to $7.2 million over deceptive marketing of its leads.
Is Thumbtack worth it for electrical companies?
Thumbtack is a pay-per-contact option for testing demand: it has no joining fee, contract or subscription, and the pro sets an exact price per lead plus a weekly budget. It publishes no rate card. A third-party sample (Tack Tools Pro, 2026) puts the median electrical and wiring repair lead at $43.71 (207 leads), what pros chose to pay. A customer can contact up to five pros in the first four hours, and a Fair Shot refund applies only if the customer replies to no pro within 72 hours, you responded through Thumbtack within four business hours, and you shared no personal contact details first.
What is the average cost per lead for electrical companies?
LocaliQ's 2025 report gives a median electrical search-ad cost per lead of $93.69, with a median $12.18 click cost and a 9.08% median conversion rate (search ads, April 1, 2024 to March 21, 2025). For Google Local Services Ads, SearchLight's February 2026 data shows $39 per electrical lead across 112 accounts, while 99 Calls reports an average of $55.48 and a median of $54.12 on charged electrical leads from 5 sites (trailing 3 to 12 months, captured Oct 27, 2026). No marketplace publishes an electrical rate card, so read each as a separate study estimate from a different sample, not a quote.

| CraftJack (Closed 2024, redirects to Angi) | None: product no longer sold | Not published; we could not retrieve a historical vendor rate card | Not applicable | Not applicable; craftjack.com redirects to Angi pro signup (checked Oct 27, 2026) | Closed 2024, redirects to Angi; pages presenting it as currently purchasable are outdated |
| Modernize Home Services | Dynamic per-lead pricing with a ceiling you set; live transfers, inbound calls, leads and exclusive Branded Programs | Not published; the pricing page has no dollar figures | Standard requests: Modernize plus up to 4 companies may contact the homeowner; Branded Programs leads are exclusive | Not published; quote through sales | Electrical appears only on its Leads and Inbound Calls trade lists; ask which products cover electrical in your area, and get the ceiling, minimum spend, term and credit policy in writing |
| Houzz Pro | Software subscription; advertising is a separate add-on | Published (Houzz blog, Oct 5, 2026): Design $99/mo, Pro $199/mo, Teams from $399/mo; advertising from $499/mo | Not published by Houzz | 12-month commitment; renews unless you submit a do-not-renew request at least 30 days before renewal | Houzz serves electricians and publishes electrician software; electrical advertising costs and results are unpublished, so buy it for the software |
| Google Local Services Ads | Pay per valid lead (call, message or booking), not per click; legacy LSA weekly budgets (monthly maximum = weekly budget x average weeks a month) become daily budgets once migrated into Google Ads | Not published by Google. Electrical: $39 per lead (SearchLight, Feb 2026, 112 accounts); charged leads average $55.48, median $54.12 (99 Calls, trailing 3 to 12 months, captured Oct 27, 2026, 5 sites) | The customer picks your profile, but the same customer can contact other advertisers and each is charged | No contract or minimum term; ads stop at your monthly maximum; billed at a payment threshold or every 30 days | First paid test after your Google Business Profile, if someone can answer the phone: missed calls over 20 seconds during business hours can now be billed |

Angi (Angi Leads)
Visit sitePricing: Not published; lead fees vary by task, location and demand
Pros
- Pay-per-lead billing is available; confirm the term and any early termination fee in your signed contract, and Angi says homeowners now pick which pros contact them (homeowner choice, January 2025)
- The pro agreement is public: renewal increase capped at 10%, cancellation by phone, a lead is charged only once both sides show interest
- Angi reports a 10% lift in self-reported pro win rate after homeowner choice (vendor-reported, unaudited)
Cons
- No rate card, and we found no third-party electrical figure for Angi, so an electrical price is unknown until you get written pricing from sales or see it in your account
- The monthly budget is a target, not a hard cap: Angi's own example turns a $500 budget into $520
- Any early termination fee applies if included in the signed contract, and its amount is not public; no refund of fees on termination
- BBB shows 1,745 complaints in three years and 381 in the last 12 months on the profile where complaints are counted; none is split out by trade
Best for: Electricians who will test pay-per-lead with a small budget and read the contract first
HomeAdvisor (now Angi Leads)
Visit sitePricing: Not published; no third-party electrical figure found
Pros
- HomeAdvisor operates within Angi; verify the billing model and signed terms of the specific offer
Cons
- FTC order in 2023 to pay up to $7.2 million over deceptive marketing of its leads
- Publishes no lead prices; a rep reviews them when you call to join, and the monthly spend target is a goal, not a cap
- Lead credits must be requested within 30 days of the charge, are issued as store credit, and exclude leads where you did not win the job (HomeAdvisor lead credit guidelines)
Best for: Electricians comparing it with Angi, who should check which billing model and signed terms apply to the specific offer
Thumbtack
Visit sitePricing: Not published; you set the price. Third party: electrical and wiring repair median $43.71, n=207 priced leads, March 12 to September 18, 2026 (Tack Tools Pro)
Pros
- Pay per lead with no joining fee, contract or subscription; you set the exact price per service and a weekly budget
- Automatic Fair Shot refund only if the customer replies to no pro within 72 hours, you responded through Thumbtack within four business hours, and you shared no personal contact details first; a customer call counts as a reply even if you miss it (terms updated September 28, 2026)
Cons
- Not exclusive: a customer can contact up to five pros in the first four hours and more after that
- No rate card; the price shows only inside the pro app, and Thumbtack can raise minimum prices
- Fees are final except under the refund policy: no refund when the customer hires someone else, and other refund requests are at Thumbtack's discretion within 45 days
- No electrical price from Thumbtack; one third-party sample puts electrical and wiring repair leads at a $43.71 median (207 leads)
Best for: Electricians who want a pay-per-contact option for testing demand and will count replies for a month
Networx
Visit sitePricing: $10–$100+ per shared lead; $15–$120+ per exclusive lead (all categories)
Pros
- Help center publishes a range: $10–$100+ per shared lead and $15–$120+ per exclusive lead
- No contract; pause for 1–28 days from the dashboard
- An exclusive plan sends the lead to one contractor and attempts a live transfer during business hours
Cons
- Help articles are dated 2022–2023, so the range may be out of date
- Prepaid budget renews automatically when the balance reaches one lead's value or less and your billing date comes up; post-pay accounts pay an activation fee (amount not published) and set a weekly limit
- Refund of unused prepaid balance is not documented
Best for: Electricians who want a published range and no contract, and will confirm refund terms in writing
CraftJack
Visit sitePricing: Closed 2024, redirects to Angi
Pros
- None to weigh: the product no longer exists as a separate service
Cons
- CraftJack closed in 2024: Angi announced the shutdown on its Q1 2024 earnings call, and craftjack.com now redirects to Angi's pro signup (checked October 27, 2026). Pages presenting it as a currently purchasable service are outdated
- We could not retrieve a historical vendor rate card for CraftJack
Best for: Nobody; evaluate Angi instead
Modernize Home Services
Visit sitePricing: Not published; quote through sales
Pros
- Electrical is listed on its Leads and Inbound Calls trade pages
- Branded Programs leads are exclusive, and Modernize reports a 40% average set rate on them (vendor-reported)
- You set the maximum you will pay per lead
Cons
- No dollar figure anywhere on its pricing page; sales form or phone only
- Electrical does not appear on every trade list we fetched, so confirm which products cover it
- Standard requests can be contacted by Modernize and up to four companies
- Term, auto-renewal, cancellation and credit policy are not public
Best for: Larger electrical companies willing to negotiate a program and get every term in writing
Houzz Pro
Visit sitePricing: $99 / $199 / from $399 per month; advertising from $499 per month
Pros
- Prices are published: Design $99/mo, Pro $199/mo, Teams from $399/mo (Houzz blog, October 5, 2026)
- You can cancel for one month of cost during a 7-day window after the free trial
Cons
- 12-month commitment that renews unless you request non-renewal at least 30 days before, through subscription settings, the cancellation form or your customer success manager
- Advertising from $499/mo is sold separately and its price by trade is not published
- Houzz serves electricians, but electrical advertising costs and results are unpublished
Best for: Electrical firms that also do design-build or remodel work and want estimating and proposal software, not a lead feed
Google Local Services Ads
Visit sitePricing: Per valid lead; not published. Electrical: $39 (SearchLight, Feb 2026, 112 accounts); charged-lead average $55.48, median $54.12 (99 Calls, trailing 3 to 12 months, captured Oct 27, 2026, 5 sites)
Pros
- You pay for valid leads, not clicks, with no contract and a monthly maximum you set
- Electricians is a listed eligible category, and leads judged low quality are credited automatically, usually within 30 days
- Electrical is named in the first phase of the move into Google Ads (August 2026)
Cons
- No published price; third-party electrical figures run from $39 to $55.48 per lead from different samples
- Wrong-service and out-of-area leads are no longer credited
- Since October 2026 a missed call over 20 seconds during business hours, or a voicemail, can be charged
- Manual bidding is being deprecated in the migration and LSA reports do not carry over
Best for: Electricians with a verified Google profile and a phone answered during business hours
How did we evaluate these lead platforms for electricians?
We read each platform's own help center, contract and pricing pages, checked on October 27 and 28, 2026, and compared what each publishes against the electrical benchmarks we hold. A price appears as a platform price only when the platform published it; otherwise it is labelled as a third-party figure with its source. In our own tracker (ChatGPT and Perplexity, September 1 to October 27, 2026), the 7 electrical questions cited BaaDigi in 78 of 316 answers (24.7%), and the most-cited domains were thumbtack.com with 226 citations and reddit.com with 209.
One limit up front: our own Local Services Ads data for electrical comes from one account, so it is an example, not a benchmark.
What does an electrical lead cost on each platform?
No marketplace here publishes an electrical price list, so treat every number below as a range with a source.
The one search-ad anchor with a published methodology is LocaliQ's 2025 home services benchmark: the median electrical search-ad cost per lead is $93.69, with a median $12.18 click cost and a 9.08% median conversion rate (search ads, April 1, 2024 to March 21, 2025).
**Angi and HomeAdvisor.** Neither publishes an electrical price, and we found no third-party electrical figure for either. Angi's help center says lead fees change with task, homeowner location and demand.
**Thumbtack.** No rate card. A third-party sample (Tack Tools Pro, March to September 2026) puts the median electrical and wiring repair lead at $43.71 across 207 leads; that is what pros chose to pay, not a Thumbtack price.
**Networx.** The help center lists $10 to $100+ per shared lead and $15 to $120+ per exclusive lead across all categories, on articles dated 2022 to 2023.
**Modernize.** No figure is published.
**Houzz Pro.** $99, $199 and from $399 a month for software, with advertising from $499 a month, per a Houzz blog dated October 5, 2026.
**Google Local Services Ads.** SearchLight's February 2026 data shows $39 per electrical lead across 112 accounts. 99 Calls shows a $55.48 average and a $54.12 median per charged electrical lead from 5 sites (trailing 3 to 12 months, captured Oct 27, 2026). The two samples differ, which is the reason to track your own cost.
**Our own LSA data.** One electrical account, June 11 to October 12, 2026: $33,908.78 spent on 875 leads, 713 of them charged (81.5%), which is $47.56 per charged lead and $38.75 across all leads. This is one account, not a benchmark, and it holds no booked-job or revenue field, so we do not publish an electrical close rate. Cost per booked job is cost per lead divided by your own close rate.
Which platforms share leads, and what does that do to close rate?
Angi says each request is matched with no more than five pros, and since January 2025 a pro receives a lead only when the homeowner picks that pro from a list. Angi reports that self-reported pro win rate rose 10% after that change; that figure is vendor-reported and unaudited. Networx sends a shared lead to up to four contractors, and its exclusive plan sends it to one. Modernize's consent language allows the company and up to four others to contact the homeowner, while Branded Programs leads are exclusive. HomeAdvisor falls under the same no-more-than-five cap. On Thumbtack, a customer can contact up to five pros from search results in the first four hours and more after that (terms updated September 28, 2026). On Local Services Ads the customer chooses your profile, but Google prices message leads partly on whether the customer contacted other advertisers, so one homeowner can be charged to several.
Sharing matters because the same homeowner is called by several companies at once. The electrical benchmark we hold measures click-to-lead conversion (9.08%), not lead-to-job, so we do not claim an electrical close rate for any platform.
What do electricians complain about on these platforms?
These are complaint counts and refund terms, not measured rates, and none is split out by trade.
**Angi and HomeAdvisor.** BBB lists 1,745 complaints in three years on the Angi profile where complaints are counted, 381 of them in the last 12 months. HomeAdvisor lead credits must be requested within 30 days, are issued as store credit, and exclude leads where you did not win the job.
**Thumbtack.** Fees are final except under the refund policy: no refund when the customer hires someone else, other refund requests within 45 days at Thumbtack's discretion, and no refund when you close the account.
**Google Local Services Ads.** Wrong-service and out-of-area leads are no longer credited, voicemails during business hours count as connected calls, and credits usually apply within 30 days, with the original charge remaining on the invoice.
What should the contract say before an electrician signs?
Ask for these in writing before you fund or sign anything:
1. The term and what renews it. Angi subscriptions renew automatically and the fee can rise up to 10%; Houzz Pro needs a do-not-renew request at least 30 days before renewal. 2. The termination fee, as a number. Angi's public agreement makes any early termination fee conditional on your signed contract and does not state an amount. 3. Refund of unused money. Angi gives no refund of fees on termination; Networx does not document refund of an unused prepaid balance. 4. Credit rules. HomeAdvisor and Angi lead credit guidelines require a request within 30 days and exclude leads where you did not win the job; Networx requires it within 14 days; Thumbtack allows other refund requests within 45 days at its discretion. 5. A hard spending cap. Angi calls the monthly budget a target; Modernize lets you set a ceiling per lead. 6. Who answers the phone to cancel. Angi cancels by phone through Customer Care.
Which lead platform should you choose?
Pick by where you are, not by which platform sounds biggest.
**No verified Google profile or reviews yet: none yet, fix your Google Business Profile and Local Services Ads first.** Google says higher-quality profiles, including those with images, may rank higher and pay less per lead in Local Services Ads, and electricians is a listed category.
**Small crew with a thin calendar:** run Local Services Ads with a budget you can afford to lose, answer every call, and, if you want a second source, test one marketplace on pay-per-lead for a month while counting replies and booked jobs.
**A full calendar for the next month:** do not buy volume. Spend the time on reviews and your own site.
**Larger electrical company with a sales team:** ask Modernize and Angi for written terms, then compare cost per booked job against Local Services Ads using your own close rate.
**Electrical plus design-build or remodeling:** Houzz Pro is software first; buy it for estimates and proposals, and treat its advertising as optional.
**You want leads you own:** build your site, rankings and Google profile through a monthly retainer instead of renting a marketplace's audience.

Frequently Asked Questions
How much does Angi charge electricians per lead?
Angi does not publish a price. Its help center says lead fees change based on task, homeowner location and demand, and we found no third-party electrical figure for Angi. Ask sales for written pricing, or check inside your account, before you commit, and compare it with LocaliQ's 2025 median electrical search-ad cost per lead of $93.69.
Is HomeAdvisor the same as Angi?
Yes. HomeAdvisor operates as Angi Leads inside Angi Inc. In 2023 the FTC ordered HomeAdvisor to pay up to $7.2 million over deceptive marketing of its leads. HomeAdvisor publishes no lead prices; a rep reviews them when you call to join, and its monthly spend target is a goal, not a cap.
Is CraftJack still available?
No. Angi announced the CraftJack shutdown on its first-quarter 2024 earnings call, and craftjack.com now redirects to Angi's pro signup page, as checked on October 27, 2026. CraftJack closed in 2024, so pages presenting it as a currently purchasable service are outdated; we could not retrieve a historical vendor rate card.
Do Google Local Services Ads cost less than Angi for electricians?
We cannot say, because neither publishes an electrical price and we found no third-party electrical figure for Angi. Third-party electrical figures for Local Services Ads are $39 per lead (SearchLight, February 2026, 112 accounts) and a $55.48 average on charged leads (99 Calls, trailing 3 to 12 months, captured Oct 27, 2026, 5 sites). Compare cost per booked job using your own close rate.
Does Houzz Pro send electrical leads?
Houzz Pro is a software subscription at $99, $199 or from $399 a month, on a 12-month commitment. Targeted advertising is sold separately, starting at $499/month. Houzz serves electricians and publishes electrician software, but electrical advertising costs and results are unpublished.
Can I cancel an Angi subscription early?
You can cancel by calling Angi Customer Care, but if your contract includes an early termination fee you owe it, and Angi gives no refund of fees paid on termination. If a fee applies, its amount is set in your signed contract and is not published, so read it before signing.
